[EN] Rice'milk' is more expensive than soymilk, about €2,50 per liter, but healthier. But it's fairly easy to make. Here's a translation of the recipe in the link above.
This rice milk is creamier and thicker than rice milk than packs in the store. And more delicious, I think.

Ingredients for 1 person
1 part white rice (preferably organic)
6 parts mineral water
Little salt, about 1 level teaspoon to 1.5 liters of water.

2 pans, metal strainer and clean bottles to store the rice milk.
Preparation
Rinse the rice thoroughly and place in a pan with 7 parts of water. Bring to a boil, turn down the heat and let simmer at least 2 hours cooking.
Preparation
Put the rice-water in the blender (not all at once) and blend it thoroughly, then press it through the sieve into another pan. When the first pan is empty, wash the rice milk again through the metal sieve. Then dilute the rice milk with water to the thickness desired. Pour into well-cleaned bottles and refrigerate.
Serving tips
Good as drink in-between as is, or sweetened with sugar, (maple) syrup or other vegan sweetener. You can also make a very good oatmeal or chocolate milk with it. |
